My Approach : Macros to Mindfulness

The Low-Down on Personalized 1:1 Coaching

How do I help busy, working moms lose weight without gimmicks, deprivation or dieting?

I have been right where you are, and I’ve lost over 70lbs while being a  working mom.

Weight loss IS possible.

There are four core principles of my evidence-based approach that I personally guide my clients through.

M #1 Macros

Understanding the foundational, scientific building block of weight loss and what to put on your plate in the form of protein, carbs, and fats (macros) radically reduces cravings and overeating.

Most women resort to skipping meals, outlawing specific foods only to binge later in the day, or simply not eating enough. It’s time to get science on your side. In our work together, you’ll discover exactly what to do for each meal of the day that suits your budget, values, and preferences and you will feel better.

This skill set is KEY to feeling full, satisfied, balanced and optimizing fat loss while preserving muscle.

M #3 Meditation

Learning how to retrain your brain is essential to go beyond unconscious eating habits.

And the good news is there’s no right or wrong way to meditate. Whether it’s 5 minutes, once per day, or something else, what’s for sure is you’ll become less reactionary, calmer, and less anxious around food and all parts of your life with a simple daily meditation practice of your choosing.

This skill set is KEY to feeling free and safe around all types of food.

M #2 Mindfulness

Discovering the power of mindfulness tools and strategies will turn you into the heroine of your own weight loss journey.

Imagine wanting the ice cream. And, then imagine using a mindfulness technique to lean in and see if it’s physical hunger or emotional hunger. And, then deciding when it’s worth it to you and not bingeing on an entire carton of Ben and Jerry’s.

In our work together you’ll explore and develop new skills for handling stress that increase your awareness instead of turning to wine, TV, and hyper-palatable foods to de-stress, and the results will amaze you.

This skill set is KEY to no longer eating your feelings.

M #4 Movement

Once you start feeling better and having more energy, we’ll explore elevating your approach to moving your body and exercise with science on your side.

Many women are overexercising and still not losing weight, some are not exercising at all. We’ll transform how you move (you may need less than you think) to get results. If you want to increase your metabolism (AKA be able to eat more), let’s find your unique balance between strength workouts and the cardio that I know you love.

This skill set is key to accelerating your weight loss and radically increasing your energy.

I lead my weight loss clients through a unique blend of personalized, step-by-step coaching, and sound, evidence-based recommendations.

I ask that my clients commit to a minimum of 90 days to create long life-lasting results.

Why do I specialize in working with moms with a career, who want to lose weight for good?

I find so much beauty and connection in working with women, especially working Moms - because I get the pull of it all.

I get the fact that you want to contribute and work, and I also get that nothing is more important than your family. I believe both can be true.

I also get that your number one value is being able to show up and be your best for all the things you’re responsible for, especially your tiny little humans.

I get that you want to feel so much better, and you want to start showing up for yourself so you can continue to show up for what’s important to you.

And I get how hard it’s been to find a long-lasting, sane solution to your weight challenges.

I’ve discovered that I do my best work with individuals who embody the following characteristics:

  • Grit. You are willing to put in the work and you’re willing to show up again and again until you find what works for you.

  • Open Minded. You have a willingness to think and do things differently. You’re interested in learning new ways to show up for yourself in a way you currently are not.

  • Life Long Learner. You have a willingness to learn and develop new skills to achieve your weight loss goals, including exploring mindfulness practices that make the weight loss lifestyle stick.

  • Big Picture. You have a willingness to zoom out the lens on your weight loss goals and see the big picture. You gained a pound or two one week? You are able to see that it’s not really as big of a deal as you think when you’re engaged in figuring out what happened, what the triggers were, and your strategy to handle it with grace and compassion.

  • High Performer. You’re used to succeeding in more than one area of your life. Yet this one is a double edge sword - it propels you forward and it can trap you in your perfectionist thinking. You are now ready to give it your 110%, but also when you give it 90%, 80%, or 70% - you’re willing to show yourself kindness and give yourself a break instead of beating yourself up.

Many of my clients are…

  • Working Moms.

  • Have an advanced degree.

  • Are in a leadership role at work (healthcare professionals, small business owners, leaders in an organization or team).

  • Care about a whole body and scientific approach.

  • Tired of undereating to end up binge eating.

  • Want to enjoy food and create sustainable results.

  • Willing to give up overnight success weight loss goals handed down from the diet industry and focus on the bigger picture.
